"You know, I'm getting a little tired of waiting for you to catch on!"-Four
This chapter was all about strength. I don't think it's just about just physical strength, but also mental. They were all given knives that they had to learn to throw at targets. Tris is the first to hit the target! Soon, everyone has hit the target except for Al. I feel really bad for Al sometimes, he didn't want this life! He wanted to protect people, not hurt them.
Eric gets really mad, which Eric seems to do a lot. Stupid Eric. Anyway, he says he wants Al to go stand in front of the target while Four throws knives at him. This is when Tris stands up for Al! However, her courage doesn't exactly pan out for her, seeing as Eric then makes HER stand in front of the target. I really don't think I could ever do what she did. I am too much of a wimp.
Four points at his forehead to let her know exactly where he is going to throw it, maybe because he thought it would be less frightening or something? Anyway, he throws the knife and it misses her! The next one misses her too. She finally lets her guard down, and surprise surprise, the next one nicks her in the ear! I MEAN HOLY OUCH RIGHT?!?!?! Yeahhhh... anyway. Eric tells her good job, and it seems like he's proud of her. I know... weird right?
At the end of the chapter, Tris got SOOOO mad at Four for hitting her, saying he did it on purpose, and he was trying to prove something to Eric. But I know, that he wasn't trying to prove something, and then when he said that quote, it kind of, just kind of made me think that he like her... but that would be weird... right?
I kinda disagree that the knife throwing was about physical strength. I agree with the mental part because it is preparing them to be capable of hurting people and practicing their aim so they can be efficient if they ever do need to use knives against someone. Somebody doesn't really need to be strong to throw a knife that only weighs a few ounces.
ReplyDeleteOh and I also disagree that she got hit because she let her guard down. Four had perfect aim and hit where he wanted to every time. He hit her ear on purpose to teach her some sort of lesson.
I love your back ground by the way! And I can imagine your voice when I read this, it's so cute!
