Chapter 39: The End.

"I suppose that now, I must become more than either."
-Tris

Wow. This was a really great ending to this book, until the last page. The shot never came, I knew it wouldn't. I mean, there are two other books left! So Four...Tobias..(maybe I can get used to that).. is back. Tris asked him how he remembered and he says he didn't. He just heard her voice.

They know that they need to move fast, so stop the simulation. So Tobias goes up to the screens and starts hitting buttons and doing things that Tris can't even watch, and finally, they are back too. Every single Dauntless member that was under the spell has returned. Then he has to get the data off the computer so that the leaders don't start the simulation again.

So they start running, away, from everything. Tris is searching for Caleb everywhere. She finds him and she tells him that their father is dead. Then, here comes Marcus. He tries to act like everything is okay with Tobias, but Tris starts freaking out telling him to get away before she does something that she won't regret anymore. Like shoot him. He backs off. Good for her, standing up fro Tobias.

Here comes the ending, and the water works. They are finally running away. To Amity, where they will be safe for a while anyway. She explains how she will never feel safe with Marcus and Peter around, but I have a feeling that that will change during the next book.

So long for now. I hope you enjoyed my blog!

THE END.

Chapter 38

"Can I be forgiven for all I've done to get here?"
-Tris

I know you probably want some big summary of this chapter- but I really have only one thing to say.

Tris reminds me of a savior. At first, I wanted to write that she reminded me of God, but then I thought about it, and she doesn't. I know a lot of people don't believe in God, and that is okay. It took Tris a few short pleads to see that she was getting through to Four. That is what saviors do. No matter what, they will not stop until they get through. So thank you, Tris. For breaking through the barrier, and continuing this trilogy.

I like this quote because of exactly what I talked about. If that trigger is pulled, which I am sure it won't be. Tris will be forgiven, because that is what God does.

Chapter 37

"Did I shoot him in the leg?... No. He walks."
-Tris

Okay so they are heading to the control room- and by them i mean Caleb and Tris as well as their father and.... Marcus. Ugh. I hate him almost as much as I hate Jeanine.

So here they are at the Dauntless compound when who should show up? You probably didn't guess it.. it's Peter. So Tris, as well as I am sooooo confused on why he isn;t under the simulation! At first I though he was Divergent- how aful would that have been? Then I realized that he wasn't smart enough. He explains how the leaders took him off, and then Tris threatens to shoot him, and just like Eric, he doubts her.

How long is it going to take for people to realize that she is not a small little Stiff anymore! She WILL shoot you, and she won't feel bad about it! Goodness! Take a hint. So she shoots him in the arm. Lol.

Okay so Tris tells Caleb and Marcus to wait with Peter while her and her father go find the control room. She is trying to keep her brother safe. She is such a good sister! It makes me want to be a better sister...Nahhhhhh.(;

So her and her father get to the elevator and two guards come, guns a blazin' Tris hits the ground, and her father jumped in front of her as a diversion. WHY DO PEOPLE TRY AND SAVE HER BY GETTING THEMSELVES KILLED. Ughhhhhh whyyyyyyyyyy. If Caleb dies, I am literally going to quit this book.

She finally makes it to the control room and she sees one lonely guard staring up at the huge screens. "Tobias."

I like this quote because in all this misery, Tris can still be a little humorous.

Chapter 36

"Eric called Al's death brave, and he was wrong. My mother's death was brave."
                                                                      -Tris

This chapter was more of a filling chapter. Tris starts running away from two guards and one of them she kills with absolute ease. Wow. How?! However- the other one, she recognizes. It was Will. WHYYYYYYYYYY. She had to choose, his life or hers. she chose her own.

She finds the building where the rest of her family is and once she gets in, she finds Caleb, wearing his old Abnegation clothes. He explains that he researched the simulation serum and found out what it was, and then he dropped out of initiation and became Factionless. However, Tris's dad will not accept that. I am glad that their father has not completely turned against them.

When Tris's dad removes the bullet from her arm, she gets to thinking, how much does she really know her father? She then figures out that they need to wake up the Dauntless members in order to stop the war! If they execute this perfectly, nothing could go wrong, right?

This quote is so true it isn't even funny. It reminds me of a movie we watched in Health called What Dreams May Come, where it explains how suicide is the lowest of low.

Chapter 35

"Human beings as a whole cannot be good for long before the bad creeps back in and poisons us again."

-Tris

This chapter was quite the long one. Tris woke up inside the same glass tank that she had been in many times before. The water starts to rise, and for a minute, I think that they are putting her through another fear landscape simulation. Then I realize that they are actually going to kill her- through her own worst fear. These people are low. Very, very, very, low. I feel so bad for her, all the things that she has ever thought deeply about is coming true.

Now, here comes the bravest thing that Tris has ever done. She gave up. Now, giving up might seem like the most cowardly thing to do, but not in this case. She decides that "sometimes it isn't the fighting that was brave, it's facing the death you know is coming." That is the first time in all of my blogs that I have used a quote in the middle of a blog. However, I think that it is necessary.

And of course- someone always comes to Tris's rescue, but it is usually Four. We all know that Four is under a spell now, so it had to be someone else. It was her mother! I was all like- wow why can't my mom be like that?! So then her mom starts shooting all these guards and she explains how she found Tris. About how she had been looking for her ever since the train came. She also told Tris why the leaders are so scared of Divergents, because they can't be controlled.

Then they start running and trying to find her brother and father, and Tris's mom tells her that she will distract the guards while Tris runs away. I knew something bad was going to happen. I knew it. Of course it was something like Tris's mom dying. She was shot. To death. And Tris had to run away. It's just.. too.. horrible.

I like this quote because it reminds me of this movie I once watched called Twitches. There was this thing called the darkness coming after them, and no matter what they did, good or bad, it get getting closer and closer, trying to kill them. This is how I refer to evil.

Chapter 34

"He is gone. Controlled by the simulation, he will now murder the people he called innocent not three minutes ago. Jeanine killing him would have hurt less than this."
-Tris

This chapter made me soooooo mad. Maybe it was just because the whole chapter I had to deal with Jeanine. Well not me personally of course but I had to put up with reading about her, and that to me, is dealing with her. So even though Tris got shot in the shoulder, and both her and Four were captured, Jeanine was the real problem with this chapter. They were both taken to a room where Jeanine tells them that they are going to have very unfortunate fates. This includes Tris dying, and Four having "tests" done.

You're probably really confused. "What kind of tests?" Well, now that the leaders know about Tris's and Four's divergence, and how they were able to avoid the serum's control, she wants to test Four to see if she can fix her serum somehow. And again, "Why not Tris?" Well, Jeanine believes that Four's divergence is weaker than Tris's. And although I hate her with a burningggggg passion, I have to agree.

Finally Jeanine tells them her other plan. To be in control of everyone. Okay, I know I have problems with losing control, but I don't think I'd ever go to this kind of extreme! This is when Jeanine sends Tris away to be killed, and Four starts to attack Jeanine. GO FOUR! He starts to strangle her, and the guards grab him and inject another serum into him. He then turns into a complete animal. His eyes glaze over and he tries to run at Tris and kill her. This is when she knows he's gone.

This quote really gets to me, because of the way it is worded. Just the way she talks about how he is gone, it's really deep.

Chapter 33

"You won't shoot me."
-Eric
"Interesting theory."
-Tris

Okay if this happened to me- I think I would be freaking out. I don't know how Tris kept it together. Here's what happened. Tris woke up in the middle of the night to everyone acting like robots. They were moving in unison I mean obviously I didn't witness this, but I'm sure it would have been really super creepy! And of course, like every other person in this world, she was curious. Who wouldn't have been? So she followed them, trying as hard as she could to kep the same movements as them.

Once she makes it on the train, all she could think about was her beloved Four. She comes to the conclusion that her Divergence is what is keeping her from being under the same spell as everyone else, and she thinks that maybe if she finds Four, it would prove to her that he was Divergent too, just like she suspected. I was hoping and PRAYING that he was Divergent, because what Tris really needs right now is a friend! I mean, everyone should have a friend in their time of need. And since the leaders are the only ones who aren't under the spell besides the Divergent, where else is she going to find one?
Thank gosh she finally finds Four but at first, he is acting so flawlessly that a little part of her died inside. However, he reached across and grabbed her hand and her whole body lit up. She was so excited. Tris knows that the only place she and Four will be safe is with her family, so when they get off the train, they try to stay out of sight while searching as well.

And when they run into Eric- my heart stopped. I started freaking out, especially when Eric threatened to shoot Four. This is the moment to me when Tris is brave. She stands up for Four and outs her gun to Eric's head. I was all, "YEAH GO TRIS GO YEAHHH!"

I like this quote because no matter what happens to Tris, whether she is kidnapped or interrogated or killed or her Divergence is known, she put it all on the line for someone she loved. That is true bravery to me.
